The in-laws are coming for Christmas this year. Bear says his dad would like an apple pie. I've made a lot of pies over the years, but never apple. And the one who usually makes the apple pie at holidays is my aunt, and hers is terrible. So: If you make apple pie, what recipe do you follow? How can I make a pie that is not dry or bland? Help

Last week I made wonderful, wonderful Chicken Makhani in the crockpot. As of Thursday, Rowan can stand on her own. She has only done it a few times, but she can.

We (Bear, Rowan, and I, and 11_11_bride and her husband and daughter) went to the strawberry festival in Fort Mill today. Rowan was happy in the Beco in a front carry and she liked the baby swings at the playground. She did not care for the back carry in the Beco. ( Read more... )

Am feeling somewhat better now. Kitchen is somewhat usable; at least, I managed dinner, even if we had to eat it on paper plates (with real forks :p): Sloppy Joes, coleslaw, and baked beans (from a can).
